The Tropics, located at 122 Broadway in downtown San Diego, was a pre-Tiki tropical-themed bar that operated during the mid-20th century. While specific details about its interior and offerings are scarce, it was part of the early wave of Polynesian-inspired establishments that laid the groundwork for the Tiki bar movement. Though not as elaborately themed as later Tiki bars, The Tropics contributed to the tropical nightlife scene of its time.
