The Moulin Rouge Hotel and Casino opened on May 24, 1955, at 900 West Bonanza Road in Las Vegas. As the first racially integrated hotel-casino in the United States, it attracted both Black and White patrons, breaking the city's segregation barriers. Despite its popularity and cultural significance, the Moulin Rouge closed its doors in October 1955, just five months after opening. The building was later listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1992. This design is part of our vintage retro collection, celebrating the vintage defunct golden era Las Vegas venues of yesteryear. Printed on our warm & cozy heavyweight unisex sweatshirt.
