Kona Lanes, located at 2699 Harbor Boulevard in Costa Mesa, California, was a beloved bowling center that operated from 1958 until its closure in 2003. Renowned for its Googie architecture and Tiki-inspired design, it featured 40 wood-floor lanes, a game room, and the Outrigger Room lounge, which hosted numerous local music acts. Over its 45-year history, Kona Lanes became a community hub, hosting leagues, tournaments, and social events. Despite efforts to preserve it, the center was demolished in 2003. Today, the site has been redeveloped, but the memories of Kona Lanes live on among those who cherished its unique charm.
