The Houston Buffaloes, often called the "Buffs," were a minor league baseball team based in Houston, Texas, active from 1888 to 1961. They competed in the Texas League and played home games at West End Park and later Buff Stadium. The team was affiliated with the St. Louis Cardinals from 1920 to 1958. Notable players included Dizzy Dean and Joe Medwick. In 1961, the franchise was sold and moved, paving the way for Houston's entry into Major League Baseball.
