The El Rancho Hotel Tower & Casino, formerly known as the Thunderbird, was rebranded in 1982 to revive the legacy of the original El Rancho Vegas. In an effort to attract a broader clientele, the resort introduced a 52-lane bowling alley, appealing to families visiting Las Vegas. Despite these additions, the El Rancho struggled to compete with newer mega-resorts and ultimately closed on July 6, 1992. The property remained vacant until its demolition in 2000, marking the end of its chapter in Las Vegas history.
