The Dunes Hotel and Casino, which opened in 1955, featured the Emerald Green Golf Course, a premier 18-hole championship course that debuted in 1964. Spanning 7,240 yards, it was the longest course in Las Vegas at the time. The course extended south from Flamingo Road to Tropicana Avenue, covering approximately 80 acres along the eastern edge of Interstate 15. The Emerald Green Golf Course was a popular destination for both tourists and celebrities, enhancing the Dunes' reputation as a luxurious resort. However, following the closure of the Dunes in 1993, the golf course was also closed to make way for new developments.
