The Dome of the Sea was a distinctive seafood restaurant that opened on June 12, 1965, within the Dunes Hotel in Las Vegas. Designed by architect Milton M. Schwartz, the restaurant featured a unique circular structure with an underwater theme. Its interior showcased images of fish and seaweed projected onto the walls, creating an immersive dining experience. A notable feature was a harpist, dressed as a mermaid, who performed from a seashell-shaped seat that moved along a figure-eight track in the water at the center of the room. The Dome of the Sea remained a popular dining destination until the Dunes Hotel's closure in 1993, after which the property was demolished to make way for new developments.
