Billingsley's Outrigger was a mid-century tropical gem tucked into the Surf & Sand Hotel at 1465 South Coast Boulevard in Laguna Beach, California. Opened in 1960 by restaurateur Glenn Billingsley—ex-husband of Leave It to Beaver star Barbara Billingsley—the Outrigger brought Polynesian flair to the Orange County coast. Inside, guests sipped strong island cocktails mixed by famed bartender Popo Galsini, while live Hawaiian music and surfside views made it a standout destination. Though long gone, the Outrigger’s blend of tiki escapism and Hollywood connection left a lasting mark on Laguna’s beachside dining history.
