The Islander was a renowned vintage tiki bar and restaurant located in Los Angeles, California. Opened in 1959, it became a popular destination for its Polynesian-themed ambiance, featuring flaming torches, a lagoon, and live exotic animals like capuchin monkeys and toucans. The interior showcased artificial thunder and lightning effects, along with nightly entertainment including fire and hula dancers. The Islander was also known for its collectible tiki mugs crafted by Spurlin Ceramics, representing some of the earliest and most innovative tiki souvenirs from that era. The establishment closed in the 1980s and was demolished in 2012, but it remains a cherished part of Los Angeles' mid-century tiki culture. Printed on our sturdy 100% cotton long sleeve T-Shirt.
