The Sahara Hotel and Casino opened on October 7, 1952, bringing a Moroccan-inspired escape to the Las Vegas Strip. Over the years, it became known for hosting legendary entertainers like The Rat Pack, Johnny Carson, and Judy Garland. After nearly six decades, the Sahara closed its doors on May 16, 2011, marking the end of an era.
