Verdugo Hills Bowl, located at 3237 Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta, California, opened its doors in 1959. Known for its distinctive mid-century modern design, the bowling alley featured 28 lanes, a coffee shop, cocktail lounge, billiard room, and a children's play area. In 1977, it expanded to 40 lanes to accommodate its growing popularity. Over the years, Verdugo Hills Bowl became a community hub, hosting leagues, tournaments, and social events. In 1998, the music video for Matchbox 20's hit song "Real World" was filmed within its lanes. Despite its cherished status, the bowling alley closed in 1996 and was demolished in 2003 to make way for a Vons supermarket.
