The Salem Rebels were a minor league baseball team based in Salem, Virginia, active during various periods between 1955 and 1971. They began as a Class D team in the Appalachian League in 1955. After a brief hiatus, they returned in 1957 and continued in the Appalachian League until 1967. In 1968, the Rebels transitioned to the Class A Carolina League. The team played its home games at Kiwanis Field, known for its scenic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. In 1972, the franchise was rebranded as the Salem Pirates, marking the end of the Rebels' era.
