The Boston Yanks were a professional American football team based in Boston, Massachusetts, that competed in the National Football League (NFL) from 1944 to 1948. Founded by owner Ted Collins, the team played its home games at Fenway Park. Due to player shortages during World War II, the Yanks merged with the Brooklyn Tigers for the 1945 season, playing under the name "Yanks" and hosting games in both Boston and New York. Over their five-season tenure, the Yanks struggled to find success, compiling a record of 14 wins, 38 losses, and 3 ties. In 1949, Collins relocated the franchise to New York, where it was rebranded as the New York Bulldogs, marking the end of the Boston Yanks era.
