Hollywood Star Lanes, a 32-lane bowling alley located at 5227 Santa Monica Boulevard in Los Angeles, opened its doors in 1960. Known for its Googie-style architecture, it became a popular spot for both casual bowlers and league enthusiasts. The alley gained cinematic fame as a primary filming location for the 1998 cult classic "The Big Lebowski," where it served as the central hangout for the film's main characters. Despite its cultural significance, Hollywood Star Lanes was closed in 2002 after the Los Angeles Unified School District acquired the property to build Kingsley Elementary School.
